French field hockey joins Genezys

Field hockey isn't something you hear about every day in France. And yet, it has been an Olympic sport for over 100 years and is extremely popular in countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, India, and Australia. Here, the sport remains relatively unknown, but it is starting to gain ground thanks to the strong performances of French teams, who often compete in major international events. With the Olympics and major championships approaching, French hockey is attracting more and more interest... and a new generation of players is determined to put the sport in the spotlight.

Focus on Timothée Clément, the striker to watch

Timothée Clément? He's the French striker who's taking field hockey by storm. He started playing at a very young age in Montrouge, in a family of enthusiasts—his father was even the record holder for appearances for Les Bleus. With the youth teams, he won everything: European U18 and U21 champion, bronze medal at the 2021 Junior World Cup with 15 goals in 6 games, record number of hat tricks, all as captain. He was voted best young player in the world by the FIH in 2022, no less. After making his debut with the senior team in 2018 (notably scoring a crucial goal in the World Cup quarter-final against China), he is now a pillar of Les Bleus. At club level, after a promising start at Montrouge, he cut his teeth in Belgium (Royal Orée, then La Gantoise), winning several national titles.

Victor Lockwood, experience at the service of Les Bleus

Alongside Timothée Clément is Victor Lockwood, the rock of the French team. A solid defender, he brings his experience and calmness to the team in heated moments. An international player for several years, he has played in major tournaments with Les Bleus and has established himself as a true leader on the field. His ability to read the game, his defensive commitment, and his ability to restart cleanly make him a key player in the French team.

Timothée Clément and Victor Lockwood joined Genezys a few weeks ago to promote field hockey and give it more visibility. And they came with some serious swag: Timothée is giving away his signed Olympic stick, and Victor his autographed Osaka stick.
