⚽ Ligue 1: The return of our good old French league

Every year, it's the same story: all season long, we complain about everything that’s wrong with our beautiful league. But, as always, we can’t wait for the first match of our favorite team.
So for this season, here’s a quick preview of the clubs that will make French football exciting in 2025.

🔴 PSG: Top dog status

As expected, PSG is seen as the big favorite this season, continuing a project led with a masterful hand by Luis Enrique.
The club is slowly reinforcing its squad, adding a few players to create an even deeper rotation ready to dominate Ligue 1.
As the best team of 2025, the capital club should once again steamroll the competition without too many surprises.

Player to watch: Désiré Doué
An obvious pick but this season, his role will be even more important.
He’ll amaze us once again with his talent, no doubt about it.

🔵 OM: A serious contender?

After an already very complete transfer window, Marseille still needs reinforcements in a few positions.
But the real win this summer was keeping all of their key players.
Continuity, experience, a solid coach, a few new additions fans dreamed of it, and it’s finally happening.
The project looks promising: a 2nd-place finish in Ligue 1 and a strong European run seem like the minimum expected now for a club that, more than ever, shows real ambition to challenge the Parisian giant.

Player to watch: Igor Paixão
Unavailable until early September, he’ll need to adapt quickly and prove his worth strong competition awaits.
But if everything clicks, he could light up Ligue 1 with his talent.

⚪ ASM: The wild gamble

Monaco caused a stir this summer by signing Paul Pogba.
There are still doubts about his fitness, and the club is unlikely to take risks he might not make his official debut before October.
That said, the Principality club will bet on continuity and light reinforcements across all positions, with a strong existing squad that includes Thilo Kehrer, our Genezys athlete, who will have a key role in Adi Hütter’s system.

Player to watch: Paul Pogba
Unavailable until at least mid-October, “La Pioche” will need to get back in shape before proving he’s still got it.
But if his body holds up, there’s no doubt he’ll be one of the standout players in the league.

🔵⚪ RCSA: Power to the youth

The Blue&Co-owned club will once again be one of the league’s most exciting teams as has become the norm in Strasbourg with a massive influx of high-potential youngsters.
Once again, they could very well be fighting for European places.
Watch out for this thrilling squad with a young coach full of fresh ideas.
Among all these talents, keep a very close eye on Kendry Páez, the Ecuadorian wonderkid with silky dribbling and velvet touches.

Player to watch: MESSIIII!
In addition to Kendry Páez, RCSA also has Rayane Messi, a young French player who made headlines with his outstanding performances in the lower divisions.
A raw gem to follow closely.

🔴🔵 OL: Rebuilding

That will be the motto for the Lyon-based club.
Trouble with a toxic ex ? Lyon is right in the middle of it.
After financial uncertainty, the club seems to have come out the other side for now but will have to cope with many departures.
They’re heading into a season with low expectations, but who knows what magic trick they’ll pull from their hat?
Let’s hope they stay out of trouble long enough to focus on the pitch for a club with a golden crest… and holes in its pockets.

Player to watch: King Georges!
In a Lyon side depleted by exits and light on new signings, this pure product of the club’s academy will finally get the chance to shine.
Could he become one of Ligue 1’s top scorers? A lot will depend on him in attack.
Now’s the time to seize his chance and light up the Groupama Stadium.
